Dancehall newcomer Jahve Advantage has expressed great optimism for the future of his music career mere days before the release of his newest single Likkle Past 8.

The 29-year-old stated that he recorded the track in 2022 before producing it by himself at Damage Music Recording studio in Montego Bay, St James.

“The song is set to be released February 12. It is a song I recorded about three years ago along with another song titled Butterfly, which I will be releasing in March,” stated the Cornwall College alumni, born Jahvor Mitchell.

‘Likkle Past 8’, he says, characterise his unorthodox musical style.

“I always want to be better than my best, and my love for music and lyrical potency makes me different from other artistes. I go to the extreme to make my songs as best as I possibly can, so I take my time and select my words carefully. ‘Likkle Past 8’ is a song that shows my versatility,” the young St James-based deejay said.

Jahve Advantage grew up in the tough inner-city communities of Granville and Lilliput. Despite being surrounded by violence, the fast-rising deejay was able to keep his focus on academic studies and music.

He graduated high school with ten subjects, five of which he obtained at Cornwall College in the Caribbean Examination Council exams, and another five at Spot Valley High in the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Exams.

Jahve Advantage concedes that he is not yet a household name in the music, but he believes that his brand of music, married with hard work and consistency, will one day bring him there.

“Hopefully by summer, with what I have working on in the studio, I will be recognized as a future dancehall and reggae music superstar,” he said.
