Anthony Malvo buzzing on the airwaves with Bye Bye Loneliness

Veteran reggae artiste and producer Anthony Malvo has expressed gratitude for the support he has been receiving following the release of his latest single, Bye Bye Loneliness.

“Oh my God! The reception to this song has been overwhelming. People are calling me about it from various places, including Jamaica, Japan, Germany and North America. I am very, very grateful for the support that this song has been receiving,” said Malvo.     

The Atlanta-based singer said the song, which was produced by John John, on the Talk About Love brings back that original flavour which is currently missing from reggae music.

“The people are showing this song a lot of love and support because it is authentic reggae music. It is an original song which tells a story about an individual who was once lonely but has found someone and is happy again. This person is no longer stuck at home, depressed, because he has found true love,” he said.

The experienced entertainer also shared his concerns about the quality of music production in Jamaican music today.

“The new artistes are very talented but I believe they have strayed from the real reggae and dancehall music. As a result of that both genres are rapidly losing their identity. I am not saying the youths aren't making good music, it is just that these songs don’t sound like authentic reggae or dancehall,” he said.

Malvo is currently in the studio working on new projects in order to capitalise on the momentum of Bye Bye Loneliness.

“I have some new songs coming out soon, including a dancehall track produced by Delly Ranx. I also have another dancehall track co-produced by me and Ferday for Itza Young Boy Production. These songs are set to be released by April,” he said.

Malvo came to prominence on the local music scene in 1980. Since then he has scored several hits, including Come Back To Me, Can You Stop The Rain, Take You To The Dance and Ready or Not.
